Contest: LEGO® Holiday Building Challenge

Have you been working on a holiday-themed LEGO® sculpture? If live in the U.S. and you are age six or older, visit the LEGO® Club to learn about their latest contest. You could win a trip for four to the Carribean on Norwegian Cruise Line! Build any size holiday-themed model using only LEGO® pieces, take a color photograph, and then submit your entry form along with a short (50-word) essay describing your design. Winners will be picked from each age group: 6-9 years, 10-14 years, and 15 and older. But you need to hurry! The entry deadline is January 9, 2009. Good luck!

P.S. If you live outside of the U.S., you might want to visit one of these regional LEGO® Play Sites: Great Britian, the Netherlands, Germany, and France.

If you miss this contest, don't fret. Every second Lego magazine issue, or maybe even every issue, has one. The magazine comes every two or three months.

Thanks, CricketB! We are relatively new to the world of LEGOs here at my house, having moved up from Duplos not all that long ago.

Do you know if there are LEGO contests for other countries besides the U.S.? I couldn't seem to find any on the other LEGO webpages.

We're in Canada and he sent in a picture of his creation for a contest last year. I don't remember any fine print about locations, although for a cruise there might be.

Their website can tell which country you are in with geo-targetting, so viewers in other countries might see something else. They should go to www.club.lego.com directly. It redirects me to en-US, but people often lump Canada with the US. There are ways around it, so you can see what other countries would see, but I don't know how.

I can't find a recent issue (or anything else) in my son's room, and online came up a preview of the latest issue, but nothing else.

Fair warning: The magazines are filled with things kids might want to buy, and the subscription includes an annual catalogue.

Just got the Jan/Feb issue. (What? Receive a magazine as late as the month on the cover?) There is a permanent Lego Club Cool Creations contest, for anything. They have winners of the "Agents" and "Batman" building contests.

This issue has a survey about how they can improve the magazine. I suspect they didn't want to run a contest and survey at the same time.
